Getting started
- Grant Screen Time access when Peace asks — this is what lets the app apply a lock.
- Create your first profile and pick the app you want to block.
- Set a backup PIN, then scan any NFC tag to register your first key.
- Tap your key to lock; tap again to unlock.
NFC tags & keys
Almost any 13.56 MHz tag works — NFC stickers, a hotel key, an amiibo, a keychain. Peace remembers the tag’s ID.

Strict mode & emergency PIN
Strict mode enforces a minimum lock time so you can’t unlock early. If you lose your tag, your backup PIN is the safety net — set it in onboarding or Settings.
After five wrong PIN attempts there’s a short cool-down. Keep your PIN somewhere safe.
Peace Pro & skips
Peace Pro is a one-time purchase that unlocks unlimited profiles & tags, categories, websites, schedules, allowances, Strict Mode, custom lock screens, Apple Watch, widgets and full stats.
Skips let you unlock without your tag — three free each week, with optional top-ups that never touch your streak. Restore past purchases anytime from Settings → Membership.
Frequently asked
Does Peace see which apps I block?
No. Peace is built on Apple’s Screen Time framework, which uses opaque tokens — the app never learns the names of the apps you select. Everything stays on your device by default; there’s no account, no analytics, no tracking. (Optional iCloud sync moves only your lock status between your own devices.)
What happens if I delete Peace or turn off Screen Time?
Like every app of this kind, removing Peace or revoking Screen Time permission lifts any active lock. Strict mode adds friction, but iOS ultimately lets you change your own device settings — we’re honest that Peace is a commitment device, not an unbreakable vault.
The lock screen won’t go away / my tag won’t unlock.
Make sure you’re scanning the same tag you registered, and that the profile shown matches. If you’re in Strict Mode, unlocking is blocked until the minimum time passes. Lost the tag? Use “Lost your tag? Emergency unlock” and enter your backup PIN.
Can I lock my apps without an NFC tag?
Yes. You can lock and unlock from inside the app, from the Action Button or a Shortcut, and from your Apple Watch. NFC is the fastest, most tactile way — but it’s optional.
Do I need an NFC tag to start?
No. You can skip tag setup during onboarding and add one later. Any writable or read-only 13.56 MHz tag works.
I bought Peace Pro on another device — how do I get it back?
Open Settings → Membership → Restore purchases. Peace Pro is also eligible for Apple Family Sharing.
Is Peace available on Android?
An Android version is in development. Join the list by emailing us and we’ll let you know when it’s ready.
